I used to use Suunto watches but switched to Polar for the last six years or so. Reviews of the Suunto Race 2 suggested it to be a return to form and battery life in particular is extremely impressive despite the use of a bright AMOLED display. The watch feels solid (and heavy, so consider the titanium version if you need something lighter) and the screen is superb. The Suunto app and the software on the watch are both very impressive. Everything works well after the usual orientation period where it's hard to remember where functions are and what buttons to push, but a but of pruning and re-organisation in the app brings the most important features to the fore. The watch sits more comfortably on my wrist than any other sports watch I've had despite it being bigger than all my recent watches and both the HR and GPS functions seem far less prone to errors. All-up, this is a very impressive offering from Suunto and it's nice to support a European brand.
